Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

—Philippians 2:4

Demonstrate love by willingly choosing to give in to an area of disagreement between you and your spouse. Tell them you are putting their preference first.

I want to clarify and encourage you with a thought about today’s challenge.  Although the author directs you to tell your spouse that you are putting their preference first, I suggest that you not.  Why?  Because doing so is fertile ground for pride to grow.  Perhaps it would be better to say, “This really seems important to you.  I’m sorry we had a disagreement over it.  Let’s do it your way.”
