[Mark Driscoll, from Mars Hill Church in Seattle, recently started a three year sermon series on the Gospel of Luke.  During his first sermon in the series he mentioned a comment made by an archeologist that shed a new light on Matthew 27:48 (“And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink.”).  It is a compelling note, although I have never heard this point made before.]
